Since Highland Community School first became a charter school in Milwaukee in 1995, many teachers and community groups have come forward to create charter schools.
Today, there is more support than ever for those considering opening a charter school. School planners can apply to the City of Milwaukee (application below), to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, or to the Milwaukee Public Schools.
Not sure which authorizer to work with? Contact Cindy Zautcke at (414) 288-5775 if you have questions about choosing a charter school authorizer.
